College of Dietitians of British Columbia

The College of Dietitians of British Columbia was established on November 2, 2002 under the Health Professions Act through enactment of the Dietitians Regulation. Bylaws for the College were approved by the provincial government on December 11, 2003 and on April 1, 2004 the College became the legal authority for the regulation of dietitians in British Columbia.

The College's Mission Statement is: Under the provisions of the Health Professions Act, the mission of the College of Dietitians of British Columbia is to ensure protection of the public by establishing, monitoring and enforcing competent, safe and ethical dietetic practice.

Continuing Competence Program
The College has now completed the 2010 group Professional Development Plan assessments. Registrants in the 2010 group who received the mention "incomplete" in their assessment letter must re-submit a revised plan by February 5, 2010.

Notice of proposed bylaw amendment 
The Board has approved a bylaw amendment to allow for emergency registration of dietitians from other jurisdictions including the US armed forces.  The Ministry of Health Services has specified a 7-day consultation period, from December 11 to 18, 2009.  This notice initiates the consultation period.
